Do you have a heart to serve but aren’t quite sure where to plug in yet? Our General Church Volunteer Team is for anyone willing to step in wherever there’s a need at First Lutheran Church. From hospitality and outreach to children’s ministry support, setup, special projects, and behind-the-scenes help, these volunteers keep ministry moving and help make our church a warm and welcoming home for all.

Volunteer FAQ

Do I have to be a member of First Lutheran to volunteer?

No. While some roles require membership, many opportunities are open to anyone who regularly attends and wants to serve. We’ll help you find the right place.

I want to help, but I don’t know where I fit. What should I do?

That’s exactly why we have our Assimilation Director! Sign up and we’ll connect with you to learn your interests, schedule, and gifts so we can match you with a good starting place.

Do I need experience to volunteer?

Not at all. Many roles require only a willing heart. If training is needed, we’ll walk you through everything.

Will I need a background check?

Some positions — especially those involving children or youth — may require a background check for safety. We will guide you through the process if needed.
